Reimers Auditorium 75th Anniversary History Presentation: "On Eternal Patrol: USS KETE"

Naval historian Dr. Samantha Cavell, Associate Professor of Military History at Southeastern Louisiana University, will give a presentation in Reimers Auditorium on Saturday, August 2nd at 3pm titled "On Eternal Patrol: USS Kete and the Submarine War in the Pacific.” Admission is free. Reimers Auditorium is part of the First Christian Church facility. The address is 305 E. Charles St., however Reimers Auditorium faces N. Cherry St., between E. Charles and E. Robert streets.

First Christian Church's only military casualty during WWII, Lt. Frederick Fay Reimers, was attached to the USS Kete when lost at sea near Midway Island. Reimers Memorial Building, which includes a kitchen and a dining hall in addition to the auditorium, was dedicated to Lt. Reimers' memory 75 years ago and given to First Christian Church by the Reimers-Schneider Families.
