How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Tis the season for this annual Columbia holiday tradition!  Explore our decorated lobby, meet Santa Claus, sip free hot cocoa from Candlestick Bakery, listen to live carolers…and that’s just in the lobby.  After all of that, stroll into the beautiful Hainkel Hall to see the 2000 live-action movie, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, starring Jim Carrey on the big screen.  The lobby festivities begin at 6 pm.

Southeastern’s Opera/Music Theatre Workshop closes out Fanfare at the Columbia Theatre with Mozart’s final opera, complete with a live orchestra.  This timeless fantasy tells the story of Prince Tamino and his odd companion, Papageno, on their quest to rescue the daughter of the Queen of the Night.   Directed by Dr. Jennifer Mouledous.  Presented as part of Fanfare, 2025.
