First Guaranty Bank is searching for an Assistant Controller to assist the Controller and CFO with the daily operation of the Finance Department as it relates to all accounting and financial control functions.  The position will involve duties for both First Guaranty Bank and First Guaranty Bancshares, Inc. the parent company of First Guaranty Bank.

Qualifications:

5 years or more accounting experience (banking experience or public accounting experience preferred)

  • B.S. degree in Accounting

  • CPA license preferred

  • Knowledge of preparing financial statements, including audited or reviewed statements a plus.  Experience with regulatory reporting such as bank FDIC call reports or SEC financial filings a plus.

  • Experience in audit a plus.

  • Strong PC skills including excellent spreadsheet competence

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task as this position will require the incumbent to manage several different duties
