Portraits: In the Studio, On the Road

Great portraits don’t happen by accident—they are built on a solid foundation of light and posing.

Join PPLA for a full-day, hands-on program focused entirely on mastering the core craft of portrait photography! Expert instructors Phillip Colwart and Joel Treadwell are teaming up to teach proven techniques of posing and lighting portrait subjects.

Whether you are a seasoned pro or just looking to refine your skills, you will learn how a variety of lighting set-ups and poses are possible for anyone with a little practice. The concepts which will be demonstrated can be used in both studio and outdoor locations.

What to Expect:

-Hands-On Shooting: A model will be provided , and each attendee is encouraged to bring their camera to get hands-on experience.

-Folio Building: Everyone will have the opportunity to capture images for folio building.

-Community: Midway through the workshop, lunch will be at a nearby restaurant as a group!
