The 21st Annual Starry November Night opens the holiday shopping season in Historic Downtown Hammond! Spend the evening shopping local, catching special sales from participating downtown businesses, and enjoying festive activities at Railroad Park and Cate Square Park. Explore both locations from 5–8 p.m., and stop by our locally owned restaurants and pubs for seasonal food and drinks along the way.
Free and open to the public.

Railroad Park | Holiday Fun for the Whole Family
Get your photos with Santa, enjoy holiday music all evening, and let the kids climb aboard a real fire truck. Our snow play area is back for the first time since 2015, so bundle up the little ones and make some holiday memories!
Cate Square Park | Night Market & Train Rides
Shop small at the Night Market, featuring local vendors and makers with handmade goods, unique finds, and gifts for everyone on your list. Then hop aboard a holiday train ride around downtown, provided by Star Equipment. Rides depart from Cate Square Park, and tickets are $5 per person, sold on site on a first come, first served basis. Ages 2 and under ride free.
Downtown Businesses: Join the Celebration
Starry November Night is the kickoff to the holiday shopping season, and downtown businesses are the stars of the evening. If your business is located within the Downtown Development District, register to participate and tell us about any special sales, holiday promotions, or shopping experiences you have planned for the night. The DDD will highlight participating businesses and their offers leading up to the event to help connect holiday shoppers with your doors.
Starry November Night takes a whole community to pull off. From setting up before the first guests arrive to wrapping up after the final song, volunteers keep the evening running smoothly. Sign up today and help us light up Downtown Hammond for the holidays!
