Hot August Stroll is a FREE day-long celebration of local businesses, art, music, and culture in historic Downtown Hammond!
Hosted by the Hammond Downtown Development District since 1995, Hot August has invigorated Downtown Hammond with visitors, shoppers, and neighbors to support locally-owned businesses. Each year offers a lively display of nearly 100 small businesses and dozens of local musicians & artists providing quality entertainment for all ages—cultivating a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that can only be found in Hammond, America!

Merchant Activities (All-Day)
Shop and dine from dozens of locally-owned establishments all day. Our business owners open their doors to welcome you and many feature exclusive Hot August Stroll specials, sales, and other activities. More information to come!
8am-12Pm | Hammond Farmers & Artisans Market
Start your Hot August Stroll with a visit to the Hammond Farmers & Artisans Market! Shop fresh, local produce, handmade goods, and local treats from 8am to noon in the heart of Downtown.
10AM-12PM / 2-7PM | Listening Local Stage
Join us in Railroad Park for live music all day at our Listening Local Stage! Musicians interested in playing can apply below.
10-12Pm | Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center Kid Zone
Bring your kiddos Downtown for some family-friendly fun for all at our Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center Kid’s Zone!
4-8pm | Car Show at the Pavilion
The Car Show is back again this year and will be taking place at the new downtown pavilion! If you have an old car that you’d like to show off this Hot August, apply below.
4-8pm | Wine & Cheese Stroll
Enjoy curated wine & cheese pairings and specially-crafted sips & snacks available for tasting at dozens of downtown businesses!
Main Stage Activities
Join us in Cate Square Park for activities all day on Hot August!
9-10am | Yoga in the Park
Ease into the rest of your day with a peaceful morning yoga session in Cate Square Park. Downtown Yoga will be leading a free Hot August Stroll class from 9-10AM.
3:00-4Pm | Lionpawlooza
Show us your Lion Pride at Cate Square Park for Lionpawlooza. Lion fans can celebrate with a pep rally and a meet and great with SLU spirit squads, student-athletes, coaches, and Roomie the Lion.
1:30-2:30pm | Hammond High Band
The Hammond High Band will be performing in Cate Square Park. Stop by and show them some Hammond High love by wearing your purple & white!
4:30-8PM | Live Music at the Main Stage
Get ready to dance in Cate Square Park! This year’s Main Stage features Phaze Band, bringing high-energy funk & soul covers from 4:30-5:30PM, followed by J & The Causeways, a powerhouse soul and R&B group out of New Orleans, from 6-8PM. It’s gonna be an evening of live music you don’t want to miss!
Wine & Cheese Stroll
Get to know downtown and enjoy curated wine & cheese pairings, as well as specially-crafted sips & snacks, available for tasting at dozens of downtown businesses. Tickets are available for purchase on July 8th for $35. Limited tickets will be available on-site for $40. Individuals must be 21 years or older to participate.
Check-In Instructions: You may check in starting at 3PM on Saturday, August 23rd in Railroad Park (106 NW Railroad Ave, Hammond, LA). Please have your order number and ID (card preferred) with you to verify purchase and age. If you purchased a Wine & Cheese Stroll ticket and are underaged, you will be denied entry and will not receive a refund.

This application is for any brick-and-mortar businesses within the DDD that plan to host any activities during Hot August Stroll. Please tell us everything you have planned to include you in Hot August Stroll promotions! Businesses located within the DDD, but not within walking distance of Hot August Stroll activities, may set up with a booth in a designated area. Register Here!
