The Downtown Development District is proud to announce the return of its outdoor concert series, Hammond Live—a revival of the Picnic in the Park series that brings live music and community connection to Cate Square Park.
Hammond Live is a free outdoor community concert series and open to all ages. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets and enjoy an evening of live music under the oaks. Drinks and limited food will be available for sale on-site. Attendees are encouraged to explore Downtown Hammond’s local restaurants for dinner and drinks before, during, or after the show. Portable restrooms will be provided for public use.
At 5:30 PM, Lake Ragan kicks things off with that unmistakable Southern soul he’s known for. You’ll usually find him around the parish in bars, restaurants, or wherever there’s a stage — singing straight from the heart. There’s a rough edge to his sound, but underneath it all, pure soul.
At 6:30 PM, Troy Bennett’s Graveyard Lips takes over the gazebo. Don’t let the tattoos and beard fool you, Troy’s got a voice that’ll catch you off guard in the best way. He’s been part of Hammond’s music scene for years, helping build a tight-knit creative community before heading to Little Rock, AR. Now he’s back home on tour, bringing that same grit and grace to the stage.

Food vending opportunities for Hammond Live are available to businesses located within the Downtown Development District and Hammond-area non-profits (civic clubs, school groups, etc). Two food booth spaces are available for each event date. No drink sales allowed without DDD approval.
