Happy Halloween from the Columbia Theatre as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest horror movies of all time.  Based on the novel that made Stephen King famous, directed by Brian De Palma, and starring Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie,and John Travolta, Roger Ebert called Carrie “an absolutely spellbinding horror movie.” Columbia’s Resident Film Historian, Dr. Jason Landrum, will introduce the film and share some fun facts about its making, massive influence, and enduring legacy.  Free popcorn and Halloween “swag bag” included with your purchase while supplies last. This film is rated R.  Anyone under age 18 will have to be accompanied by an adult. Presented as part of Fanfare, 2026.

Join us for a very special night as the Columbia Theatre celebrates the 50th anniversary of one of the most celebrated and enduring sports films of all time.  In what is considered one of the greatest years for American cinema, Rocky was nominated for ten Academy Awards, winning three.  The film’s writer and star, Sylvester Stallone, became an overnight sensation, and the movie would go on to spawn five sequels, as well as the spin-off Creed film trilogy.  Bill Conti’s rousing score still finds itself on millions of workout playlists around the world.  Columbia’s Resident Film Historian, Dr. Jason Landrum, will introduce the film and share some fun facts about its making, massive influence, and enduring legacy. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Great Scott!  We’re doing it again, and this time even bigger than we’ve ever done it before.  This year we’re throwing a pre-screening party beginning at 8 pm.  Local musicians The Playback Theory perform the entire movie soundtrack in concert to get you warmed up for the show!  There is no extra cost to attend the party, just come a little early.  Then join Master of ceremonies Dr. Joe Burns and our incredible shadow cast as they lead you through the ultimate interactive film experience.  Come dressed as your favorite character (or in any costume you’d like) to participate in our annual costume contest for a shot to win movie posters and show tickets! VIP tickets include a throw bag filled with all the interactive props you need!  This film is rated R.  Anyone under age 18 will have to be accompanied by an adult. Tangi Running Club - Amble & Ale 5k

We meet at Cate Square park and run 5k around the SLU campus. Paces range from 7min/mi to run/walk, so come one come all. When the weather is nice, it is BYOB and we move to Railroad Park. If you forget, La Carreta will serve drink in cups with lids. When the weather is not so nice, we move to a local restaurant or pub.
